Commute or no

Published

Hello everyone, I hope someone finds my post. I have a dilemma. The school I can get into is over an hour away (California traffic) BUT with grants it would be 2000 or less maybe even FREE, which is great! But I can go to a local college that's around 30k. What would yall do? Do you commute and save money, or go local? I worry that there might be an important clinical or something that I miss by commuting, but I love the price tag. I'll leave it at this. Thanks if you've read this far. All advice welcome ?

You all talked me out of attending a 70k program a while ago and I appreciate it! So I know I'll get good advice once again.

I'd choose the hour away school...but I'd also probably move to make that hour away school, less than an hour away. Sometimes moving is not possible but sometimes it is. With that said, I'd still pick the almost to completely free school if it is of course accredited and has a decent NCLEX pass rate.

Thank you. That's a great suggestion.

Honestly, moving near the "commuter school" might still be cheaper than paying for the local 30k school.

Great idea! I'll have to discuss this with family. Thank you
