Columbus Tech Summer 2010

Has anyone here applied to the Summer 2010 admission at Columbus Tech? :)

I've learned that they have received 230 applications for admission this year....wow! Good luck to all of us that have applied.

I have applied but have not been contacted for an interview yet...Have they called you? The waiting is driving me nuts!

Hi! No, I haven't been contacted either. They are still working on getting my transcripts reviewed. Are you a current student at Columbus? The waiting is driving me nuts too and we still have 3 months to wait until the selections are made...torture! :)

Yes I am a current student at Columbus Tech so I didn't have to transfer anything thankfully...I was pretty confident in my chances of getting in until I found out how many applicants there were. I was told they are only taking 50 maybe 60 people. I can wait until june to find out, I just want to get the interview done!

I think they were surprised they had so many too. When I spoke with the advisor prior to applying she said they expected less applications this year due to WGTC starting an RN program at their LaGrange campus this year. I was also told the same thing about the number of spots to fill, 50 definitely but possibly 60. I did find out yesterday that they finally finished reviewing my transcripts. Have you heard anything about when they will be doing interviews? It's very stressful, but it's out of our hands at this point and all we can do is wait and hope for the best!

Do you have all your pre-reqs done? I still have A&P2 and SCT100 that I'm taking in the spring.

I have not heard anything else about interviews, I want to call her but I know she probably gets tons of calls and I don't want to bother her....Everyone is prob calling!! I have all prereqs done except English, I suck at writing essays so I saved it for last...prob should have done it first...o well...sct 100 is easy and A&P II is no worse than A&P I....

I enjoyed A&P1, so I'm not too worried about A&P2, but SCT100 seems like such a waste of time and money. Most people today are pretty computer savvy and I think they should have a test and if you score above a minimum on the test, then the computer class should not have to be taken. Just my 2 cents. :)

I know what you mean about bothering the advisor. I've emailed her a couple of times already this week with questions and I don't want to be annoying. I do wonder how they determine out of 230 applications who gets invited for an interview. Since they allow us to finish up the pre-reqs during the spring quarter, then not everyone's GPA will have the same weight. some people will have more classes completed than others. So, I wonder if they just use the NLN and Compass scores? It's all confusing to me on how they do their selections. AHH!!

Hi ejniles- Have you heard anything yet? I have an interview on April 8th! I have no idea what to expect, but hopefully it goes well. :)

hey, no I have not heard anything yet, But Mrs. Gathier said they have a long way to go before they are done, she said they are still weeding out the people who won't even get an interview, did they call you today? Congrats, at least you have a week to prepare and she didn't say come in tomorrow! Good luck! let me know how it goes...

I got an email asking if I would be available that day to interview. I'm sure it's going to take a while to go through all the applications. Let me know as soon as you find out when yours will be! I almost would rather they asked me to come tomorrow, at least it would be done and over with instead of stressing for a week

I'll keep you posted on how it goes and what they ask, etc.

did they email your student account or your personal?

Personal. I don't have a student email since I'm not an active student there yet.
