Good Morning All,

Have one ever took College Algebra? if so, how was it? What do you learn in College Algebra? Is it easier than than Statistics. I took Statistics sometime back & earned an A-.

Thanks

See if you school would give credit for a clep test. I watched videos on Khan academy on algebra and then took the test. Total cost 85 bucks and got my algebra credit.

I am taking it this summer. I am in Algebra II right now and I think it is just an extension of that. We work with polynomials, story problems, factoring, and radicals. This class I was told really prepares you for college algebra. I have a 110% in my class now, so I hoping what I hear is true.

Unfortunately, my school does not offer the CLEP exam for algebra.

I'm in College Algebra right now. At my cc it is an extension from Intermediate Algebra, and is basically "pre-calculus". A lot of it had to do with functions and logarithms.

Is it hard? :)

I've just completed statistics. For me, college algebra was easier but much more time consuming (got an A-). I think it's because there was soooo much more material to cover and so much more homework. We used the online program MyMathLabsPlus for both classes. I ended up logging a total of 80+ hours for college algebra and only 30+ in statistics (B+) Although, it may have made a difference that I took algebra at a university and stats at a cc.

I took it a while back and if you're good with math it's pretty easy. I was a huge slacker when I took it almost 10 years ago and never studied or did any homework and still got a B.

I found in my algebra class that no calculators are allowed. Did these rules applied to you all when you took it? If you don't pass the final you don't pass the course..smh!

We were allowed to use calculators, but don't worry, from what I do remember the actual math part of it was simple. It's just a matter of equations and fun stuff like that.

For me stats was way easier than college algebra. I'm not that great at manth I ended up getting a B for college algebra and A in stats.

What a relief! Thanks :)
