Code of ethics

We absolutely must abide by the highest possible standards. We are dealing with peoples' lives.

It guides most SBON to one degree or another.

Two words: Patient Advocate, that covers every aspect of ethics in my book.

Actually I was just discussing the difference from being an assistant manager of a shoe store to being the nurse to someone at work. In retail you can throw your hands down and run out the door during the work day--I did this twice and had no regrets. However, if you attempt to do this as a nurse, you are subjecting your patient's to possible untoward events from your misguided action. Nurses call it patient abandonment; I call it the ground zero to a red coated code of ethics.

ethics-oriented nurse, duty-oriented nurse...(i know there's 1 more but i'm blank)

i'm always guided by my ethics in nsg, as well as my personal life.

it's the only code that serves my pts first and foremost...

which happens to also, be my duty.
