Co Workers

I work in a elderly community care facility. I do like most of my patients, however my co-workers are another story. I feel like I do not belong in the group, I eat lunch ususally by myself. I am usually ignored. and my suggestions and opinions usually just float up in the air.

I really wish I could quit.

    Quit trying. They're probably perverse enough that they enjoy hurting someone. Most groups end up with a goat (I've been it) and in this group, you're it.

    I know it's cliche to say you're not there to make friends, but it sure makes things easier, doesn't it? It may just take them a while to warm up to you. Unless it's the Bermuda triangle of LTC and they're all miserable, they wil get to know you and like you, trust me, I've been there. Try to, in the meantime, focus on how much you're helping the residents and how greatful you woud be if it was your parent in there receiving the wonderful care you provide :)
