CNA write up

Can your employee post a CNA write up that they are wanting the CNA a to sign up in the CNA room? The write up is just folded in half with that person name on it. Any one can open and read the write up. Is that like breaking HIPPA? I feel like it's wrong of the ADON of the facility to do that. Need some advice for my coworker.

HIPPA is regarding private health information. Certainly  it was wrong for the ADON to present the write up in that fashion.There must have been a better way to communicate. 

Unless it's a very generic write up for attendance then no, just leaving it in the employee's mailbox is in no way appropriate.  I can see it in the aforementioned case if the staff member works nights and never sees management, in that case it's actually somewhat thoughtful to not require the staff member to come in for a meeting just to hand them a generic required write up based on the facility attendance policy.   

Besides, how would anybody else even know about the write up unless there is a snoopy somebody reading a note left in a specific employee's mailbox? I know there's people like that, but so not cool! 

But...If it's an attendance write up everybody else probably sees it coming anyway even if it is none of their business as of course your co-workers are going to be aware that you miss work way too often.

No it didn't have anything to do with her attendance. There was others that was missing from the in-service and they didn't get wrote up just her. Now she got written up two more time. One for documenting  in the adl's. Which I guess everyone was informed at the meeting  not to do so but since she wasn't at the meeting she was just doing something she have done more than handful of times over the 25+ years she has been doing CNA work.

Well that's just wrong leaving then.  She at the very least deserves a face to face where she has an opportunity to defend herself. 

I hate to sound a little paranoid but...has she been at this facility a lot of those 25 years? If so she's at the top of the pay scale and the top of the benefit scale.  She wouldn't be the first long time  employee to be pushed out for cheaper labor.
