:crying2:HI I'M A NEW CNA JUST TAKE THE STATE TEST ABOUT 4 WEEKS AGO I'M FURIOUS BECAUSE I DON'T FIND A JOB! EMPLOYED ALWAYS HIRED FOR EXPERIENCE. AND APLYIED EVERY WHERE BUT I DON'T EVEN RECEIVED A PHONE CALL I APPLIED IN A NURSING HOMES AND HOSPITAL I'M MORE INTERESTED IN THE HOSPITAL BASED SETTING. BUT A DON'T KNOW.NOW I DON'T KNOW IF I WASTE MI TIME AND MONEY IN THE CNA COURSE IF I NEVER GO TO FOUND A JOBB! I HAVE QUESTION: MAYBE IF I GET ANOTHER COURSE LIKE PHLEBOTOMY IWILL HAVE MORE JOBS OPPORTUNITIES? WHAT DO YOU THING?
Im a TECH in a hospital. It is sort of the same thing as a CNA you just have to be in nursing school and have taken at least one clinical. Anyway, my advice is if you haven't already, is to actually go up to the hospital and try to speak with someone in human resources. I applied for my job online twice, and I never received a callback. If you just go there, they can see your face and it will not be easy for them to blow you off like they could over the phone. Im sure you already know but just dress professionally like you really want the job even though you may not get an interview that day. I see people make the mistake of wearing jeans when trying to fill out applications. In my opinion, that does not look good. Sorry for all the extra info but I hope it helps.

I work in a LTC facility and we love to get new c.n.a.'s so we can train them. Although we are very picky about who we hire. Here are some suggestions. When these places that you have applied to check your references and police background do they come back good? You would be surprised on how many applications we turn away because of this. Do you show up for the interview looking neat, clean, and interested in the job? How are you when the interview is occurirng? Some local community Colleges will help you with this process by giving you tips and coaching. Some will even do resumes for you at no cost or minimal costs. Don't give up c.n.a's are very needed in healthcare.

Are you applying only for jobs advertised? The way I got my first job was I just sent out about 50 resumes to every health care facility in my area. It took a couple months but the responses poured in. Sorry, maybe that's what you did, I wasn't sure from your post. You'd be surprised, one place called me about three months after I sent in an app. Another way to go is start PRN. A lot of places will hire you that way and you can get experience to go on and get a full time job. At the last place I worked I saw a lot of people just walk in and fill out applications. It might be just the places I worked, but we saw a lot of turnover so even though something wasn't immediately available, something usually did come up.

You are right about all that! Apply for the job, whether online or in the human resources department. Print out your application(s). Then you go to the hospital and physically hand the nursing supervisor of the particular unit your application or put it in their box. It about 3 days, call and speak to them directly. Make sure you know the name of the supervisor so you can be prepared. Don't just leave voicemails. It has been my experience that you don't get a return call. That is how I got my only interviews. That online application without going in personally is for the birds. They just throw your application away half the time. Good luck.
