CNA - Dual Head?

Published

This may be stupid but the websites I have found do not really explain and with a three month old I don't have much time to look.

I am enrolled in a CNA class and we are required to have a dual headed stethoscope for the FIRST day. I have set my sights apon the Littman Classic II because I want one that will last me through nursing school (and having to buy $15-$20 dollar ones every few years may add up). I also love how you can engrave them so it would be quite obvious if someone in the class stole it to use. The things is I don't quite understand the whole 'tunable' concept. Do you think the teacher would approve of it or should I buy a traditional one that flips I guess? I'm not sure maybe the Littman flips too. It would be nice if we didn't need this the first day haha. :nurse:

just get a cheap one, most cna's and nurses don't use a stethoscope much anyways. that's what all the technology is for and specialization in nursing.

I also agree, just go after a cheap one. Unlike popular belief, most stethoscopes do not wander off. If you have it around your neck, and you are the one that uses it, then you know where it is. Cheap or expensive. A CNA is not likely to use a stethoscope in modern day practice unless you work in a hospital, and only then it will be used sparingly. I bought a cheap one at Walmart a few months ago, and it is working just fine for me. Good luck though!

Interesting, only guys are responding. Do not waste your money, chances are you won't use it once out of class.
