CNA courses...

Hi Everyone,

I live in Memphis TN as of now. And there is no free or cheap cna courses around here. The cheapest I came across was 1,300. I was wondering if due to Katrina if there is any free or affordable courses on the West Bank of New Orleans or in the New Orleans area. I have alot of family in New Orleans so being there for 4 or 5 weeks would be no problem. IF anyone have any information I would greatly appreciate it.

I know that Delgado has a CNA course. I'm not sure how much it is but I know it not that much. Just check it out.

For awhile there was a free LPN program in the southern regions of Louisiana. You may want to see if you can find anything about that. Try searching the archives at laworks.net.

oschner has a program where you go to class but work at the same time so the class is free as long as you work for them

i know of a lot of cnas who worked at ltc faciities, or went to trade school and received certification

good thing about on the job training you can earn some money and the facility usually pays for the certification at least if you pass the first time

you may need to establish residentency, not sure about this

good luck will be glad to have you in state and in profession
