CNA classes in PA? Will it help me later on to?

hey everyone! right now i am 18 years old and i am going to my community college for nursing and then im going to switch to a four year school in a year ihave allready completed one year of pre reqs. i was thinking about taking a cna class but i cant seem to find any classes really i would like a class closer to wilkes barre pa does anyone know of any??? also do you think it would be a good idea to become a cna right now? will it help me later on in nursing school at all? thanks :)

hi meghan91, i do not know of any cna courses in your area, have you looked it up on the internet or career builders? maybe you can call around to different nursing facilities and see if they offer a cna course. the cna course is very short, it is not long at all but sometimes they have the course at inconvenient times to where it will interfer with your schedule if your working or going to school. you just have to check it out!! when i was in nursing school there were alot of people that quite their regular jobs to become a cna so that they can have more patient contact and it help them through school better when we had clinicals. i did not become a cna until after school but i do wish that i did become a cna then while in my lpn program. it is kind of like eaches own when it comes to that. alot of people do not enjoy cna work:eek:. you can go on this allnurses forum under region and find your state and go under it and ask the question about cna courses in your area. good luck to you! :)
