My daughter is starting a CNA program at the local community college. Can anyone recommend the best certification exam review book for CNA? I never worked as a CNA throughout school so at a loss as to which to choose.

I used a booklet that our program provided that was put out by the state agency in charge of CNAs. In my case the department of health.
I would check your health department or board of nursing (whichever oversees CNAs in your area) to see if they provide a review booklet. It was short, covered exactly what we needed to know, and also provided useful information about how to register for the exam and go through the certification process.

Thank you! I knew someone here would be able to point us in the right direction.

To help prepare for the skills test portion of the CNA you can also go to youtube. They have videos demonstrating how to do all the skills that she could possibly be tested on.
Thank you!

When I got my CNA certification a few years back, I didn't use a review book;
That being said, we were given what we lovingly called 'The Bible' - which was a few printouts of the skills we had to master and the exact steps to tale in which to perform them; it was a wonderful resource. Youtube videos were amazing - just remember to have her watch videos specifically for her State as I've found that there can be some minor differences in method depending on State. (Don't want her to get marked down during the physical exam).
As for the written test - I googled a few websites that had practice exams with questions such as "Your nonverbal resident keeps grasping for the wash cloth while you're trying to bathe them. What do you do?" "Fire starts in a patient's room; what is the first thing you should do?" etc. These were amazing for me - I ended up completing the exam in 15 minutes with a 58/60 thanks to those sites.
FREE CNA Practice Test for Certified Nursing Assistant Exam has a bunch of stuff on there (It's a great resource for current CNAs to brush up on their knowledge too!)

When I was studying for my CNA certification I used YouTube and all of the free websites I could find on Google. The most helpful website I found was All Healthcare Careers. Tons of free quesitons and they even had a CNA skills section that had videos on what to expect for each CNA skills section.
