Clostridium difficile/ UTI

Is it possible for person who has clostridium difficile colitis to have urinary tract infection from the same bacteria due to poor hygiene? Has anyone encounter this kind of cases in their field ?

from curious nursing student, thank you

I would think the uti would come from the ecoli that comes with the horrible diarrhea with the c-diff and not wiping properly.

So I did a microbiology report way back when on c diff lol, and I read soooooo many studies. I came across a lot of info about c diff with uti but it was almost exclusively associated with E. coli. Just because it's just such a dirty "situation". I suppose the bacteria itself could theoretically live in the bladder, but in a vegetative state because it hates acidic environments.

Yes and yes. With CDiff, poor hygiene may have nothing to do with it though. It is constant and goes everywhere. Getting it thoroughly clean at any given time can be a real challenge.
