so where are these clinics?

I've looked in hospitals but I'm willing to get a job in a clinic or nursing home, which people keep recommending, but I have looked on craig's list and pretty much sent in for dr.'s offices but none of the drs offices have called me back. Where are all the clinics? I don't see any advertised and if I did I probably already applied, so which clinics do you work at?

yup, it's mostly hospitals, I've seen no clinics but immunizations which I've applied for as well.

Hey Blondie1887. I saw from your previous posts that you had something lined up in the Bronx. I was wondering what happened with that? I've also been applying everywhere but there really isn't much out there.

Yea, I went there for a day to try it out and the whole thing just kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Like I was just filling out questionaires and the rest of the ppl had no medical background doing the questionaires meant for medicaid housing or abi and theh had this fake clinic site but it said abi housing on the outside.

How lojg have you been looking? Ive only been looking for 2.5 wks but ive got no calls even. I think a lot of ppl said it takes a few wks to do anything. I have also tried execusearch and they said they have some per diem psych positions and theyll contact me when there are free shifts. I have tried linkedin too. Now I'm googling clinics and seeing the jobs they have on there page.

Yea I've been looking about the same amount of time. Well I mean it took my sisters friend 6 months to get her job and she has her asn. I'm also on linked in, trying to line something up. If it takes a little longer to get a call then that's alright. It's early in the search, I suppose.

oh really? that makes me feel better where did her friend with the asn get a job? I feel like it might help that you're a guy because there's so many women in nursing. I am hoping I find something very soon.

Also helps to have my BSN. Though I'm not sure about the fact that I'm a man. Her friend got the job in NJ somewhere. I think you'll find something eventually. It does take some time. You didn't mention anything about that Bronx clinic.

I did...scroll up. I am looking in northern jersey as well. I have a Bachelor's in another field and enrolled in a BSN program at Hunter right now that will probably only take me a year. You're right I feel like I'm seeing the same places advertised over and over again. Have you gotten any call backs? because I have gotten nothing, I've never applied to so many jobs and had such a silent phone lol. I must be filling out like 50 apps a day

My apologies. It shows the most recent so I guess that why I missed it.

I haven't gotten any calls back. Almost every hospital wants experience so it's just one big catch-22. I fill out everything I can find so maybe something will turn up eventually.

Try indeed.com , nyc craigslist, idealist.org , and socialservice.com....these all post RN jobs in settings other than the hospital and they hire new grads. Also try other states before i got my hospital job in NYC i was applying out of state and I got called from hospitals in Florida and New Jersey. However they wanted me to have a license in their state...the one in Florida was willing to interview and hire me with NY license as long as the FL license was approved by the first day of job start date. I started the app for a FL license but a week later was hired in NYC.

wow, amazing. Yea, I'm applied for my New Jersey license and starting to look there as well. I am starting a BSN program at Hunter so I can't really go to florida yet. I am actually from new jersey but wanted a program that wasn't all online and most of the program in jersey are so I looked at nyc schools. Anyways, the board of nursing in new jersey said it could take up to 12 wks to get a license. I will keep looking though. Kind of wish I applied in florida now lol.
