Clinicals and nursing classes..

I am just veginning my pre req and I won't be going for my nursing classes and clinicals for 2 more years (I have to wait till my dd goes to school) anyway, what is the length of time for clinicals and classes? I will have all my pre req out of the way by that time also and I was told we would go 4 days per week.

Any ideas?

My nursing 1 was 3 days lecture and 2 days clinical. This semester it's 2 days lecture 2 days clinical and 20 plus hours a week studying.

Nursing 101 was 8 hour day clinical, 4 hour lab, and two 3 hour lectures for a total of 4 days a week, and yes 20+ hours of studying each week.

This semester, I have an 8 hour lecture, an 8 hour lab, and an 8 hour clinical and more study time than are hours in a day.

I think it depends on the program, our first year is more lab based with only one clinical, and then our second year is 2 clinical days with a short 2 hour lab and a wonderful day of 8 hour lecture. Check into the nursing program you want to attend and see if you can't get their nursing schedule online. This should give you an idea.

We did:

First semester: 4 hours clinical, 5 hours lecture, 2 hours lab per week. .

Second semester: 10 hours clinical, 4 hours lecture, 2 hours lab per week.

Both semesters I had nursing classes sheduled three days per week. Next year we get to boost on up to 12 hours of clinical a week...yee ha!
