can anyone tell me how they determine this clearance,I had a DUI in 1987,before I was a nurse and they denied me clearance in TX,but I have worked the jail in indiana where it happend,and it was a mistermenor at that time im lost:uhoh3:.but a freind suggest to get it expluged,and im open to any other suggestions.

If you fully disclose this incident, it should not be an issue. What they are ususally looking for is that you are forthoming with the information, don't be evasive. Especially since this happened 20 years ago. We have individuals who work for our DOC that have had past run ins with the law and they were offered their position.

true statement. If you are up front and tell them what they will find, your honesty will go a long way. I was arrested for a worthless check and am able to work in our jail. Just dont lie or hide anything and you should get clearance. If you are still denied you could go to or call the captain. Good Luck
