We are the first nursing class to graduate from our particular program...which is just around the corner(December 16th)! The dilemma? What should our class give as our class gift? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Tessa

Well...one class at my school gave a couple of stone picnic tables...my class gave benches to sit on outside. What kind of facilities do you have? And how big is your class? A budget would be really helpful too. You could donate trees if you need some shade around the building, flowers if the place is ugly, etc. Like I said, though, not knowing how many students are in your class or how much money you think you will be able to raise is hard. Are you just starting this now? My class planned starting in January, and we graduated in June.

Is this to the nursing program? Are there some computer programs, books, something you guys wish you had during your studies? We don't have anything like this at our school. It sounds like a cool idea.
Congratulations on your graduation!
Sorry, you would think that after all these nursing classes I would know to be detailed. There are 17 of us in our accelerated BSN class. The university is currently designing a new health professionals building that will have the med school and nursing school as a main part of the building. This is all in the planning stages now, so we won't see it before we graduate, but will happen down the road. If we would have been more on top of it, we would have started planning a long time ago as well, but being the first class has had us on a bumpy ride. Unfortunetly our budget will probably be around $300-400 dollars. We will be giving the gift to the college of nursing. Hopefully this additional info is helpful. Thank you all for your replys.

Can you turn that money into a scholarship for a future student nurse?
So a small calss...there were about 150 of us, and that was just the BSNs...there were quite a few masters students as well as a few PhDs. Hmmm...I have lots of ideas, but I have no idea what your campus/building is like. My thought is to look around there and see what would be helpful to future students. Is there someplace where people like to study that would maybe need a fridge or microwave or something? A table and/or chairs? A sofa? Something to make it more comfortable? The flower thing still applies...you would probably have to do the landcaping yourself. Or a couple of trees? If you tell people what you're doing, they may be willing to help out. For example, let's say you decide that you would like to get a sofa for a place where people like to study. Tell the furniture place what you are doing, and they just might help out. Get donations if you can. That will be harder since there aren't alumni to solicit, lol. Good luck and let us know what you decide on!
