Hi guys,
This is my second thread. just want to ask, will it be ok to become an infection control officer even if your a nurse? your responses will be greatly appreciated.

yes, nurses can work in this capacity. my facility has two nurses who work in infection control. the two nurses i know have years of bedside experience and a bsn. a nurse at my former facility (a much bigger hospital) also works in this role. she not only has years (decades) of bedside experience, she also has either a msn or a phd ... i forgot which one. gl and be sure to wash your hands.

The infection control nurse at my hospital is an LPN.

I became my hospital's infection control nurse with two years of experience as a floor nurse and then the nursing supervisor. I finished my BSN after I got the IC job... The amount of experience you need varies by facility.
