checked off a first from my list

I had to call an ambulance for a student that fell off the monkey bars. Looks like he dislocated his shoulder and should be fine. I knew it was serious when I was told he couldn't get up and was laying outside in the rain (apparently he fell just as it was starting to rain). I am just thankful nobody tried to move him while I was en route from another school.

Just to update. The student is out today (no surprise). He has a fractured humerus. A big pat on the back to the principal and staff for following what we taught them, even though it is tempting to move the student out of the rain. I forgot to mention yesterday that the staff used umbrellas and coats from the lost and found to keep him as comfortable as possible.

And my grinchy heart grew three sizes....
