Changing to Night shift

Published

Hey everyone.

I'm moving in the next few weeks to start a new NICU job. I have been at my first one for 1.5 years, and have been days since I started. I will be on nights at my new job. Any suggestions on making the transition from days to nights?

Thanks.

Turn off your phone and let everyone know that they can't call you!!

Then...if you can stand it, stay up most of the night on your days off. Unfortunately, this leaves little room for a social life if you're off during the weekdays...

I've had to rotate 4-5 times in the last 4 months, ugh. Good luck!

luckly I'm not rotating. I had to train all my friends not to call me at odd hours of the night when I got my dayshift job. I'm just glad that I'm having to rotate.

That...I can't do! I switch back to 'normal' hours when I have a stretch off (and I schedule myself so I work 3, off 4 usually). Social life remains intact!
