Changes are necessary.
Our mobile traffic is growing. We want to make sure that our readers find what they want efficiently on mobile devices. At the same time, we want to improve our page loading time.
Our focus will be on improving experience on mobile devices. Whatever works on mobile will work on desktop.
One of the biggest problems we have is the large number of forums/sections. This is problematic on mobile devices. It's hard to get from one area to the next.
Because of this, we are placing all nurse related forums/sections/pages under the Nurses section. The Nurses section will become a nursing resources page where you will find all things nursing.
So, when you visit allnurses.com just click on Nurses and you will find all nursing related forums/sections in one area.
We will do something similar to the Students section as well.
These changes will be done incrementally over the next few days/weeks.
Will the general layout change?
We are moving away from the desktop left-side navigation (visible on big screens) and just having a top navigation regardless of device size. Other than that nothing big will change. The site will look and behave just like it does today.
We you be merging/removing forums?
Yes. We will be merging/removing forums.
We've already merged 1) Job Search, 2) Job Resume, and 3) Job Interview with First Job Hunt Assistance and renamed it to Job Search, Interview, Resume.
