Hello
I have a general question to people who have applied to sunydownstate accerlated bsn program.
this is my situation my academic track record hasn't been great. I transferred to many cuny schools but I ended up getting an associate in math and science and now I am currently getting my BA degree in Psychology and I will be done Spring 2018. My main in concern is about the pre requisites I took AP 1&2 I took AP1 like three times and the third time I ended up getting a C+ AP2 I took the first time I got a C+. I do not have any healthcare experience in the nursing field but work as a pharmacy Techician and I haven't taken the teas exam. I was thinking of volunteering at a hospice care to make my application more well rounded.
Any advice would really help about what I should do now I want to apply for the summer of 2018.

Volunteering at hospice is a wonderful thing to do if you're doing it for the right reasons. There are also 20 hours of training required to do it, providing you are a good fit for hospice.
Your prerequisite grades may not be competitive enough, but I would suggest meeting with someone in admissions to see what they think. Good luck.

Hi,
like PP said, your GPA does not look competitive enough. If you go to SUNY Downstate website for accelerated nursing, you will be able to find questions to all of your questions, including the pre-reqs you need and GPA requirements.
Hey FutureNurseInfo
I am going to attend an information session to find out what they say about my grades I still have to take microbiology and I am also planning on taking upset division biology courses like pathophysiology and molecular biology.

It is a good idea to attend an info session and speak with an actual person who, hopefully, will be able to discuss your current academic standing and provide you with answers you are seeking. Let me know how it goes!
