CHAMBERLAIN

U.S.A. Nevada

Published

Hello everyone!

I have some questions regarding Chamberlain University.

Anyone here hoping to apply to there program anytime soon?

I'm considering there program and hoping to start January 2020.
Anyone currently attend the school and can give me some insight on how on the program is any pros and cons of the campus.

I do have a tour for campus next week.

Thank you!

Which location you apply for? I have same question too.

I am hoping to start in January 2020 as well! Good luck to you. I have heard good and bad things about the school, but I also believe it depends on where your location is.

@hearthappiness I'm applying to the New Jersey campus! Have you heard anything about Chamberlain and their reputation? I keep hearing a lot of good and bad things, so I am very torn.

Hi there!

I am a current student at the Sacramento campus! ? Hopefully this helps you a little!

PRO: I went in with all of my prereq's completed. I believe I am the only one in my class that doesn't have any and a few other girls only have one or two prereq's so they're in the same cohort as me. If you took the right courses, they will transfer them! Also, my program is only 2 years and 16 weeks long vs 3 years.

PRO: You will save a ton of $ by completing all of your prereq's prior to admission. I cut my program down in half; maybe more.

PRO: You are not in class 5 days a week. For prereq courses, most of them are online and the days you are in class (say for A&P) those classes are 3 hours, twice weekly.

PRO: The program is straight forward. The financial aspect is straight up.

PRO: So far the prof's I have met are incredible.

CONS: Some of my classmates are doing prereq's online and they aren't fond of it. Especially the ones doing math courses online. Also, I have been told that A&P is extremely time consuming and hard when doing it at the college.

You need to be able to stay on top of your studies and in the worst case scenario, be able to teach yourself.

All in all, I am extremely happy with my choice to attend Chamberlain. Graduating with my BSN was non negotiable so my only other options were 4 year programs which are unfortunately incredibly competitive. Chamberlain Sac Campus was also highly competitive, but I am blessed that I got in and I would not change my decision to attend at all. It's an incredible program.

As far as the LV location, I would get on Instagram and search for people at that specific program and ask them questions. They will likely be open to answering.

Hope this helped some!! Best of luck to you!!!!!!

Hi! I’m currently attending Cosumnes River College and plan on taking prerequisites there ? I was wondering what Chamberlain College in Sacramento accepted as prereq credits? I was planning on calling them but I wanted to get an alumni’s help as well. I did map out a schedule since I will be at CRC for two years or so and I plan on enrolling to Chamberlain in Sacramento around Fall 2021 so I still wanted to plan ahead. I am wanting to take English, Intro to Chem, Into to Organic and Biological Chemistry, A&P I as well as II, Psychology, Nutrition (I took this class at CRC over Summer2019!) and hopefully POLS, SOC, and any other classes I see on Chamberlain’s Curriculum I can easily save time and take at CRC. I’ve also taken Statistics but I don’t know if that helps with anything.

@ngoc_n Hi! So sorry for such a horribly late response! I've been super busy with finals and try to stay offline!

For me, I took all of those courses except O-chem. I HIGHLY recommend attending an info session because they go over EVERYTHING you need; even if you don't plan to apply for another year. Also, if you get in touch with an advisor, they can submit your transcripts in to the admin team and they can tell you which ones will transfer and which ones don't. They can even tell you which ones you don't need.

I went in with the following:

A&P 1&2 with Lab

Micro with Lab

Nutrition - but they make you do again (you can attempt to test out but from what I've heard no one has and the one they offer is way different than general nutrition)

Poly sci

Critical reasoning (philosophy)

Business Ethics

Stats and general algebra (which I believe are both needed)

Sociology

Psych 101 (intro to psych)

Chem with lab

Lifespan Development

Humanities courses (which I believe included my history courses)

All of my English courses...

I'm probably missing a ton because I did all of my classes to get an AA & to enter a nursing program.

Again, I highly recommend talking to an admissions person to get all of the info and get connected with the admissions team so you can see what else you would need if you even need anything.

I hope this helped! I'm currently multitasking and I really hope I got you all of the info you're asking about! If I missed something please ask! I'll turn on my alerts ?

Hi!! I was wondering if you could share what it took to get excepted. My Application is currently on hold

Hi,

I am also considering Chamberlain and in the midst of the whole application and enrolling process. As I am excited, it is also a little daunting as it is a year round school. My question is how many days are you physically on campus and do they offer some of the nursing classes in an online format.
