Does every State require the NCLEX as well as CGFNS? Seems crazy to have to do the same thing twice?! Surely if the BON gives you a license and you pass NCLEX it means you are qualified to work? :banghead::banghead::confused:

ps i am applying for an E3 visa not a green card.

not all state require cgfns exam. it will depends on what state are you applying with. some states require CES or CVS (newyork) some do not require it. for more updates about the requirements of each state you can check it out on this website www.ncsbn.org

There are only four states out of the entire US that actually require the CGFNS exam before they will grant permission to sit for the NCLEX exam.

The only requirements for the E-3 visa for you is that you actually hold a license from the state where you wish to be working. And this only requires the NCLEX-RN exam for most. You will also need to get the Visa Screen Certificate and have it in hand to be submitted for this treaty visa.

You may be mixing up the CES, which a credentials evaluation and not an exam, with the actual CGFNS exam. They are completely different.

Best of luck to you. I would also check directly with the website for the state for the latest information for the state that you are interested in.

hi!just want to ask about cgfns...I had applied for CES reports this february 2009.. and im planning to take cgfns exam too..my question is do i need to send again another "request for academic cards" and "validation of my license"?

Unless the state requires CGFNS exam I really wouldn't bother doing it and just concentrate on NCLEX.

They may be able to use the documentation you have already sent plus you also need to send English results if you are not exempts from that exam

thank you so much for he help..
