I'm originally from the United States, I studied nursing at a University in Canada. Upon completion I returned to the US to persue a career in nursing but I've been held up dealing with CGFNS. I found they lack professionalism and are unable to meet deadlines. I Submitted all forms and fees this past May, 2014 for CGFNS so that I may practice in the state of Georgia. My report was just issued and upon looking at it it seems the evaluator made up their own numbers concerning my clinical hours and he/she has written in her report that I have a "deficiency" (24 hours of clinical!!!) in med-surg for adults. As a result a CGFNS certificate was not issued. I have over 117 hours of med-surg clinical practicum. I submitted a copy of my transcript to the Georgia Board of Nursing so they can see for themselves the number of hours I've completed. Can I still sit for the NCLEX for the state of Georgia or do I have to contact CGFNS before I can move forward? What should I do?

Welcome to the world of CGFNS
I would wait for the BON to review your application and say whether you can sit exam or not. I presume you have submitted application to the BON?
Yes I have submitted an application to the Georgia BON. But wouldn't I need a CGFNS certificate number in order to register with pearsonvue to write the NCLEX? What I don't understand is why would CGFNS do such a thing and make out a report as if I have no clinical experience?
Do not register with pearsonvue without the OK from the BON. You do not need CGFNS number for registering with pearsonvue. CGFNS are known to make lots of errors

Sorry, you are dealing with this! Its stressful times! Do you mean that you did 117 hours in both med/surg together or individually in clinical?
Also just to say i was told that the copy of the report we get from cgfns is only a brief outline. I also disputed what was sent in regards to my mental health theory, even though i was made equivalent to a BSN nursing programme and a first level RGN. I was told that my full transcripts were sent to the board by cgfns. Hope everything works out for you
