  1. I'm an American internationally educated nurse (RN). Initially when I returned to the USA I wanted to practice in my home state of Georgia and I applied through CGFNS to have my credentials verified. I wrote the NCLEX and passed the first try and the state of Georgia issued my license. I no longer wish to practice in Georgia and have found New York State more to my liking. I have applied for verification through CGFNS with New York State. I have also submitted all required forms for licensure with New York State. Since I have already passed the NCLEX in Georgia and received my RN license do I inform New York State? Or do I wait until CGFNS issues their report to New York state then I notify the state? Which is the best route to go?
  2. Yes I have submitted an application to the Georgia BON. But wouldn't I need a CGFNS certificate number in order to register with pearsonvue to write the NCLEX? What I don't understand is why would CGFNS do such a thing and make out a report as if I have no clinical experience?
  3. I'm originally from the United States, I studied nursing at a University in Canada. Upon completion I returned to the US to persue a career in nursing but I've been held up dealing with CGFNS. I found they lack professionalism and are unable to meet deadlines. I Submitted all forms and fees this past May, 2014 for CGFNS so that I may practice in the state of Georgia. My report was just issued and upon looking at it it seems the evaluator made up their own numbers concerning my clinical hours and he/she has written in her report that I have a "deficiency" (24 hours of clinical!!!) in med-surg for adults. As a result a CGFNS certificate was not issued. I have over 117 hours of med-surg clinical practicum. I submitted a copy of my transcript to the Georgia Board of Nursing so they can see for themselves the number of hours I've completed. Can I still sit for the NCLEX for the state of Georgia or do I have to contact CGFNS before I can move forward? What should I do? Ragin1234 BScN/ tele-marketer
