CGCC NET prep class need info...

Published

Hi,

I am new and was wondering if anyone knew anything about a NET prep class through CGCC? I attended there last semester and the math professor I had was trying to get a class started to prepare students for the NET exam. I can't find any kind of class and was wondering if anyone has or is attending CGCC and has heard about this prep class? Thanks for any information.

I am just finishing up my last class, micobiology and would like to start preparing for the NET exam.

I can't imagine anyone needing a Net prep class. If you have graduated from high school...heck, from eighth grade...you can pass the Net. Seriously.

Wow, that was harsh! :uhoh21:

Honestly, I have been checking back on this post to see if anyone knew any information about it. I have graduated from college with a B.A. in Communication and would be interested in a NET prep course. Why not go in well prepared and ace the NET? This will make you a much more desirable candidate for the program, especially if you are applying for the Banner program.

Do you have the NET study guide? If not, PM me and I will share with you a way you can get one really cheap! :)

While I agree anyone who's graduated 8th grade should be able to pass the net. It is foolish to not review/study for it.

Check out this thread which was recently stickied:

Csantos is one of the most upbeat and positive pre-nursing students around here so if you need any advice or encouragement about the NET or school, I'd highly recommend asking him.

And he's been accepted into nursing school as well :yeah:

Thank you to those who have offered words of encouragement! I only want to be prepared and if there is a class out there that will help me to do well on the test, I am interested. I will also check out the sticky and ask questions as needed. I do not consider myself to be stupid, but I am the kind of person who freezes when an exam is in front of me. I am 39 and changing careers, so it has been quite the experience! I am learning alot, but my memory is not what it used to be.

Anyhow, thanks again for the help! I am glad to see there are understanding people out there!

I am sorry if my comment came off as harsh. My intention was simply to point out that the NET is not something to stress about. You truely don't need to spend a great deal of time/effort preparing for it. If you feel the need, taking a look through the "Study Guide for The Net, The Hobet, The Help entrance tests" by Frost & Jarvis should be more than sufficient. Once you take the test you will see what I mean.

Again, I apologize for offending. I love the internet, but clear communication is sometimes tricky without face-to-face visual cues.

Good luck on the test. :wink2:

I'm not aware of CGCC having a NET prep, but Gateway does! It's mostly about the reading comprehension section, because they say that's the section people seem to have the most difficulty with. Check with Gateway cc's learning center the number is on the website the class is held every few months. Good Luck!!
