CG certificate and VSC

I checked my status in the cgfns website yesterday and I noticed some discrepancies under my visa screen application and CP application. In my CP application, my transcripts from my nursing school and license validation had a status that read - received but not yet reviewed, unlike in my visa screen certificate application, the status of these requirements read - meets all program requirements. I recently passed the CGFNS exam as reflected in my CP application but in my VSC application it read - meets all program requirements. :uhoh3: I was shocked to see that under my VSC application so I called CGFNS right away to let them know about these problems.

I was able to talk to a guy whose name is "Michael" and told him about my status. He told me that CGFNS is only waiting for my English exam results. I told him that I recently passed the IELTS exam. He asked me if I have the results with me and I told him I have it. He asked me to give the registration number and he checked it out. He then told me that they will just wait for the actual scores to be mailed to them so that they can confirm my English exam. I told him again about my concern regarding the status of my CP exam in my visa screen certificate but he told me that I already passed the CP exam and once they received the results of my English exam from the testing center then I will be issued my certificates.

I just checked my status under the vsc application again a few minutes ago and they didn't change my CP exam status, it still reads - meets all program requirements. They apparently changed the English exam status, it now reads passed. I double checked my CP application, both the CP exam and English exam has a passed marked but the other requirements haven't changed. Both the CP certificate and VSC certificate are marked with "waiting for approval" status.

Do I need to call CGFNS again to let them know that they haven't changed my CP exam status? :o I know the guy from CGFNS told me to wait for my CP certificate and VSC but the thing is, CGFNS didn't change the error that I pointed out to him. :uhoh3:

Hope someone can enlighten me about this. Does anyone had the same problem with CGFNS? :o

I passed Nov 9 CG exam, and my IELTS score sent there months ago.

However, my photos and validations are all Received but Not Reviewed.

You're lucky if you have Meets All Program Requirements there.

Calling CGFNS does not ensure they'll correct your files.

The 2 people I talked with there told me to wait until I receive my certificates, and that it takes them a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks to process things. So I guess that's around 2 months wait before we can bug them about the errors.

CGFNS and ICHP are two different entities within their corporation. Postings do not get done by the same person, but by both areas. So this is what usually causes the discrepancies.

Remember that if you are actually mailing items to CGFNS or ICHP by regular mail, they go to two completely separate addresses, if you are not sending both together.

They should update the applicant's files properly. I don't see why they are so slow in updating our files and we need to call their attention several times so that they change it. I know that there are so many applicants but they should be more efficient in dealing with these documents.:uhoh3:

The testing center told me that they will be mailing the results of my IELTS exam in January 15, 2006 using a courier service. I indicated in my application that I'm sending 2 copies, 1 for CGFNS and 1 for ICHP.

I hope they will update my files as soon as they receive the results from the testing center.

I don't have a choice but to wait for my certificates to arrive. I'll just concentrate on my review for NCLEX.

Remember if you look at their website, it states that allow two weeks minimum from the time that they actually have the documents in their hands for the website to be updated. Not from the time that they were sent. I am not trying to cover for them, but they receive thousnads of pieces of mail on a daily basis, and you will literally drive yourself crazy checking the site everyday.

If your exam is on the 16th, then give them to the begining of February before you even begin checking. Or you are going to get premature grey hair.:)

When I requested IDP to send 2 copies, the woman there told me I need to send only 1 copy for my CGFNS file. The CGFNS/ICHP number is needed before they will send it, and will identify where the results will go.

Anyway, it worked for me. Both my CP & Visa Screen English Test Status says "PASSED."

if you had applied for both vcs and cp expect you vsc to be mailed within a week or two after they receive your english results but for cgfns certificate you will again have to remind them about it. may be 3-4 more times. in my case they sent my vsc within a week but in my cg certificate they changed the online status from waiting for approval to mailed but i did not receive the cg certificate.(i am in usa). i called them, the guy said "there is nothing to panic u will receive the certificate within a week". no certificate even after a week, i again called-- a lady with sweet voice said it is not mailed yet it is printed and will be mailed very soon. again no certificate after few days, again called........that was the situation...i do not rely on them. because of all my experience with cgfns, i am hesitant to send my ny credential verification application to them but there is no alternative. i have already passed the nclex-rn exam from ca and that cg certificate is of no use for me but still i had paid for that and i just wanted to have that with me.

if you are taking nclex very soon, do not even think about cgfns before your exam, it will further increase your stress. all the best for your exam.:)

the courier lost my initial vs application & bank draft, so i sent another one 2 weeks ago. i lost 4 months of processing time! :(

when can i expect to get my vs certificate?

both my cp and vs are labelled "ready for review."

so i expect to get my vsc before my cg certificate.

i applied in ca. i received my eligibility letter last october and paid pearsonvue already a few days ago. i'm waiting for my att. i'll just concentrate on my review for nclex.:)

VSC is required by US law for immigration purposes (no way around this).

CG exam or NCLEX exam + English exam + Transcript evaluation by ICHP/CGFNS = VSC

CG certificate is CG exam + English exam + Transcript evaluation by CGFNS

Last time I checked only Michigan and NJ requires the CGFNS cert.

In a nutshell: CA and Vermont does its own evaluation of transcripts;

NY requires the CVS (done by cgfns) and all other

states requires CES (also cgfns)

You still have to apply and pay the fee for VSC even if you already have the CG cert. Only consolation you have is that you don't have to re-submit the requirements because its basically the same.
