Hi there!

I will be commuting from southwest Jacksonville. Car pooling may be an option for me somedays!! i believe there are 2 morning groups and one afternoon group. I plan to request the afternoon group so that I can make sure my kids get on the bus in the morning. Depending on which groups we are assigned too, it would be nice to have the carpool option :)

Good luck with your alternate status!! Definitely attend orientation on Tuesday :)

From what I also heard in the information session, many alternates end up getting in.

As for class times... My understanding was that the morning groups are 8-12, afternoon 1-5 or thereabouts. With a lab on certain days either before or after, depending on which group you are in. Clinicals will be either a weekday or weekend day... to be assigned, but requests are considered.

I purchased the Mometrix PSB Registered Nurse Study Guide. It helped tremendously. I took about three weeks to study the book and practice the test questions. I did that to where I felt comfortable with the material. Also, during the actual test, I made sure to go with my gut and answer honestly on the Vocational Adjustment Index section. Science - you just have to brush up on all of the basics and the study guide I mentioned should help you with that.

I'm preparing to take the PSB for the ADN program, Fall 2018. Recommendations for books to study for the PSB?

I went to the PSB prep class and they recommended the Mometrix PSB Study Guide and the RN Pre Entrance Exam book, along with a few others. I'm using the latter, and so far it is helpful. It has a lot of test questions which I like. I hope to get the Mometrix and try that one out also.

My suggestion for studying for PSB is meeting with tutor offered thru school. I met with her for an hour and she gave me a booklet with websites to study and do practice tests. She offers a group session but since it was my second time taking test I met with her for 1 hour. The first time I took PSB I used Kaplan study guide which was great except for not having any shapes. So first time I took psb I only got 35 on non verbal. After meeting with tutor I retook psb and got a 99 in non verbal! My grades in other categories were all 90's both times. My total points this year is 346 I'm nervous and letters come out next week. Send me positive vibes.

They no longer require applicants to score in the 30th percentile for spelling which would weed out some individuals in prior years. I feel really confident with my score. Also, I'm thinking we will find out the first week of March because the last day for point count is the 23rd of February if I'm thinking correctly.

I will be applying this fall. Is it best to have all prereqs done such as the bio 168,169, and 175? Also, what is the PSB like? Do you have to have straight A? I have an associates degree and a 2.0 but I have a mixture of A, B, and Cs.
