Hi all! So in August I'll be coming up on my 2 year mark in the NICU. I want to take my certification test as I'm applying for the military in September and having my certification would look really good on my resume.
Anyways, what did everyone use to study and do practice question? I already have the Merenstien Neonatal Intensive Care book, but didn't know if there was websites or other books with questions included that would help me as well.
Thank you :)

Morgan,
I took a class through NICU solutions that I COMPLETELY attribute to my being able to pass my certification test. It is intense and quick, but so worth it. They give you a huge 300+ page manual with lots of information and the teacher is SO knowledgeable. Not only did it prepare me for my test, but I really felt like a better nurse afterwards. If you google NICU solutions you can see if there is a class near you sometime soon. Hope that's helpful.

I wasn't ready for certification yet, but I also took the NICU Solutions class to get an overview when I was new (my hospital didn't offer much education) and I loved it! I need to take out the manual again to prepare for certification! I was so much more confidant at work after taking the class.
My 2 year mark is around the same time as you so I'll be studying along with you! haha Good luck!

I third the NICU solutions review. I just took and passed my RNC-NIC and the review book that she gave out at the class was great. I did also study the Core Curriculum book. There are some flash cards that you can get that are good, too. Good luck, it's a tough test!
