Hi all!
I just had a couple questions about the CEN exam. I have only been working in the ED for a year, but have just completed taking all of the ENA classes such as TNCC etc. I will be taking a two day review course this week and from there I am planning on purchasing the CEN review book from the ENA.
Has the review book been helpful to those of you who have taken the exam? How helpful have you found review courses? How long did you study before taking the exam? I am planning on taking it by late August/early September. Did you find the exam very difficult?
Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

I took it recently and used a couple of emergency nursing books, but didn't buy the book from ENA. I am a recent (December) nursing school graduate and, although I have an EMS background, I've never worked ER as a nurse. I didn't think the exam was too bad.
Be sure to look over the content outline from the ENA/CEN website and make sure you feel comfortable with the topics. (For example, when I looked under Maxillofacial Emergencies, I couldn't remember exactly what Ludwig's angina was, so I made sure to look up the cause, treatment, etc.)
