I was lookign at LGV's website. Does $150 sound about right for the price of the DVD's? Just curious if others paid that much.

Hi

I brought her (DVD) tapes in December of 2008 and that is the price I paid.

Me, too....I have to say the sound quality if "ha-a-a-arible", and can get a little annoying, but the material is excellent. I work with an older RN on my unit who worked with Ms Gasparis, said she was not just an incredible nurse, but sort of a "rebel".....;)

Yep, that's what they cost and they are worth every penny.

If you go see her live then the DVDs are $99.

And she is funny as hell in person!

Von's CDs are great, but the PASS CCRN CD and cook is your key. Study the items you were the lowest. Generally, just hit the meat of the test, Cardiac, Pulmo, and know your waveforms and you'll be golden.

Took the CCRN exam on May 15, 2009 for the second time and passed it again. I first took it in 1992, passed, but made a bad decision of not renewing it. I will never let this one lapse again. Both times, I took Laura Gasparis- Vonfrolio's review course, reviewed the pearls that came with the CD's and listened to the CD's until I can practically anticipate every word. I followed her tips to the "T". Whenever she says pay attention, pay attention because the questions will be on the exam, guaranteed. I had a good night sleep the night before. I wore something yellow on the day of the exam. I ate a package of beef jerky and drank a can of coke on the morning of the exam. It took me 90 minutes to finish the exam in May. The book of questions/answers is designed for you to manage your time when you decide to take the exam. Hope this helps and good luck. Stick with Laura's stuff and you will ace the exam.

Please read my reply posted today. Good luck.

The Gesparis DVDs are worht every penny! I still watch them. She is brilliant, knows how to teach, and is funny as hell. She addresses all learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) She is my role model for a nurse educator--knows her stuff and knows how to teach it.

I have been an ICU nurse for 2 1/2 years and a nurse for 3 years. I passed the CCRN today first time around. It is not as hard as everyone (that I have talked to) thinks it is. I studied everyday for 3 weeks (avg. 6-10 hours a day) I used Gasparis videos and the Pass CCRN CD...That is all you need to pass the test. Definately review the synergy questions...there were a ton on the exam!

I studied the weekend before the test (tested on tuesday, watched two DVD's a day for 3 days), study just the Laura DVD's and did about 300 questions from the CCRN test book bank and passed with 110 out of 125. I have been only a nurse for 13 months in the ICU at the time of the test. It has a 75% pass rate...so its not a difficult bull to ride. I personally thought the test was easy. I actually got a 100% on the respiratory part :)

I just passed today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been an ICU nurse for only one year!!! I got 91/125 (72%). That is fine with me! Even though I studied for three months and thought I would have done better (hey I am in my first trimester of pregnancy, I was just thinking about sleep and pecan cookies LOL). I have the Gasparis Dvd's if anyone want to buy from me....

I am so excited!!!!

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Hello,

How much are you selling the Gasparis DVD's for?

thanks, Celeste

CCRN test revised for 2010. Any one know of any good, current study programs? The other nurses and myself work in an ICU that is very behind the times....only an occasional Swan Ganz, no trauma, no neuro, no cardiac caths or any type of cardiac surgery...we do have ventilators, vasoactive drips, and mainly sever medical problems not able to be managed on a regular med/surg floor...We need a good program for study to pass CCRN...Please, any suggestions welcome. :)
