CCRN Exam?

Hi all,

Has anyone out there taken the new version of the CCRN exam? Just came out this summer and has 150 quesions instead of 200. I have alway done my recertification by exam and am a little nervous about the new format?? Would appreciate any info......

Thanks!

I just took mine last Friday and passed. As it was my first CCRN exam, I had no experience with the previous version. However, I finished the test in an hour and twenty minutes, and found out my results right away. The questions were very similar to a RN board exam, but obviously very specific to critical care.I had a lot of questions on various inotropes and pressors (epinephrine, dopamine, dobutamine, levophed, etc), and a lot of questions about DKA and HHNK.

Congratulations!

I have heard that critical thinking is tested as well as facts even more than before.

Well I passed it! Next time time my renewal is due....I will have the CEs instead of retesting. Too much stress!

PASS CCRN was a good resource. The CD with practice questions was great. I ended up taking study tests in each body system individually after the initial one that gave me a breakdown of percentages answered right per system. I did not use the book much though.....
