2014 CCP Nursing Program

I figured I would start this topic to lower my anxiety just a little. I took the health allied test today and I have to wait till next week to get my scores. I really feel like im on pins and needles right now and I know I'll be a nervous wreck when I actually wait for my acceptance. Before I even got started on my journey to be a nurse I came across this website and It really answered a lot of questions about the application process, and was insightful in other areas of nursing that enabled me to think of more questions for answering. what I really love the most was that in previous years ccp applicants supported each other during the nerve wrecking waiting period on getting accepted. that support was so tremendous that a lot of the applicants bonded and became friends. Is there anyone else that has applied for the 2014 CCP program?

Aww kayfactor that really does suck!! Hopefully you will still have the opportunity to have Wednesdays off when registering.

Yeah I hope so

I hope I get my child abuse check back in time. Random question... How do you guys plan to work and go to school? My job isnt willing to work with my school schedule so now i have to find another one. Are any of you guys having the same issue?

Hi SR_0307,

My job is actually working with me in reference to my schedule. Thank goodness my boss is very understanding. I am staying later in the evening (MTRF) and working all day Wednesday (staying until 8). My hours will even out if I maintain this schedule. It won't bother me much since I am accustom to taking classes in the evening anyway. I am just glad to have my weekend open for studying and review. I am just so thankful because not working is not an option with two boys in college and a high school freshmen we have to maintain a two household income.

However, your clinicals would be scheduled during the day

Hey guys the section that says "purpose of clearance" which box did u choose

Yes I have clinicals covered too because on those days I will go into work between 2 and 3 depending on when they end.

kayfactor I think I picked employment with a significant likelihood of regular contact with children. It was the only one that seem to fit.

I chose School Employee. If you looked at the instructions it says to choose school employee in regards to nursing students.

"Check the School Employee box if seeking to have involvement within a school (public, private, vocational, or technical) for employment or volunteer purposes OR check this box if a child abuse clearance is needed due to enrollment in an educational program such as a nursing school or technical program."

But, if you chose " employment with a significant likelihood of regular contact with children", then that is okay too.

No, luckily, I work on the weekends. I am very fortunate to have a job on the weekends. It is what pays for my school. LOLz. It got me through since high school.

Thanks! I did a new form checking School Employee. I just dropped it in the mail.
