Nov 15, 201510 yr Hey I'm a high school senior considering a career in nursing. Has anyone graduated the ccbc day nursing program of Catonsville? If so how long did it take you from freshman year to complete the program? Nov 15, 201510 yr Hey! I'm starting the Essex program in the spring. They are the same. The program takes about 4 years to complete. It can be worked into 3 years of you schedule your prereqs just right and don't need to take remedial math classes.
Nov 15, 201510 yr The actual program is two years, four semesters. But there are approximately two years of prereqs that need to be completeted before you enter the program.
Nov 15, 201510 yr Author So you've been accepted into the program or your just starting prereqs? Why couldn't you start the Fall 2015 semester.
Nov 15, 201510 yr I was accepted into the program for spring 2016! And because I didn't go to school straight out of high school, so I started during spring semester two years ago.
Nov 15, 201510 yr Author Good for you!! :). So you started preqs spring 2014 and now spring 2016 your doing the actual RN program? Sorry just a little confused about the length.
Nov 15, 201510 yr Yes. It's confusing, I know. It took me a little while to understand the whole process. The length of prereqs can be shortened if you are really smart about the process (which I didn't know until it was too late) and CCBC offered a program with area universities, so you can apply to CCBC and them and get a BSN at the end of the program as well. It's called the ATB program. There is information sessions about it all the time on campus.
Nov 15, 201510 yr Author Yes. I was considering the atb program too. I was also considering early childhood too. If I do the atb im doing Towson university
Nov 15, 201510 yr I applied for Towson ATB as well. Still waiting to hear from them. There are a lot of prereqs. Mostly sciences, but A&P 1 & 2, microbiology, General chemistry and statistics (for ATB ), english 101 and 102 and some psychology classes. I know I'm missing a bunch of stuff.
Nov 15, 201510 yr Author Good luck being accepted into atb. Are u Towson also? I know they offer Stevenson and frostsburg.
Nov 15, 201510 yr They offer stevenson, Frostburg, Towson, and Notre dome. I applied to Towson and stevenson!
