Hey all. I'm a senior nursing student enjoying my summer. I was looking for suggestions in regards to casual reading. I just finished "A Nurses's Story" by Tilda Shalof and loved it. I am looking for some more books similar to that one. A memoir of some sort. I'm just enjoying turning my brain off from the textbook stuff. Something relaxing to read but I still want it to be about real nurses and nurses experiences. I did do a search before creating a new post but didnt see anything, so I made a new thread. Hope thats alright. THANKS!

I'm currently reading Kate-The Journal of a Confederate Nurse by Kate Cummings. My husband found this for me at a museum in Georgia and got it for me since I've always enjoyed learning about the history of nursing. So far it's been really interesting and I've enjoyed reading it.

Check out Echo Heron's books. They are older, but I loved her stories and the ease of which they read.
Awesome every one! Thanks so much! I'll add some of these to my summer reading list! I picked up "Life Support: Three Nurses on the Front Lines", by Suzanne Gordon. A bit older- came out in 1997- but grabbed my attention. Thanks again for the great suggestions! I've already tagged a few on amazon! :)

Dead Men Do Tell Tales
The Baby Catcher
I second Baby Catcher if you like midwifery stories. It's by Peggy Vincent. Very quick and entertaining read.
