I'm having a hard time writing a care plan for my patient with acute pancreatitis. I was going through the labs and the patient's AST level is 155. I thought this was due to the acute pancreatititis until I got to the meds. My patient is taking enoxaparin and it says it can increase AST levels. So now I'm confused. Are both the pancreatits and the medication causing the elevated AST levels?
Thanks for your help!
