What would be a great Captstone Idea that I can obtain a lot of research on? I'm currently enrolled in a MSN program. I have previously worked in Infectious Diseases and now I'm in Surgery (Operating Room) and PACU. Those are my areas of interested, especially Infectious Diseases (Public Health).

Do you have a capstone advisor? S/he would be the best person to ask this question, as we do not know what your program requirements are.

I suggest you pick a couple of possible topics that interest you. Then go to the library (or to your school's online library) and do a quickie search of key words relevant to those topics. See how many articles come up that are in good, respectable nursing journals. That will give you a sense of "what's out there" on topics that interest you. You could also browse a few of the major journals in the specialty of your possible topics to see what topics are the frequent topics of articles.
It should only take about 15 minutes per possible topic to get a sense of the amount of literature that's out there.

Here is a capstone idea that is applicable to the OR and PACU...the potential utilization of chlorhexidine products for the prevention of surgical site infections.
