Can't Decide! need Help Pls..

Hello fellow nurses! I got a pending approval for fiancee' visa in 4 months. I am thinking of registering at pearsonvue and take the nclex here in the Phils. before leaving probably by November. Here are my questions: Do you think I still got enough time to wait for the ATT and take the exams while here? Can I register/pay at Pearsonvue and incase I can't take the exam here can I schedule an exam in Ohio instead in Manila?

Ok, my very reason is this. I applied for licensure in Vermont and got approved to take the exam and since Ohio got other requirements, I don't want to start again.

Thank you so much. I badly need your views.

Cheers!

It is not an issue as to where you write the exam, it can be done anyplace. But you do need to be aware that even if you get licensed in VT, you are still going to need to meet the requirements of Ohio to be able to work there and that includes getting the CES done, or they will not even look at your application.

You are going to have to meet the requirements for the state where you wish to work as the license from VT is not valid for you any place else.

Ma'am Suzanne, I was told I can just get an endorsement from Vermont, could that be possible? What makes me confuse is since Vermont approved me already to take the exam that means my credentials were reviewed by them, do I still need another CES for Ohio though for example I passed the nclex already? And yes, maybe will take an English test as part of Ohio's requirements.

Ma'am thanks a lot. Please enlighten me on this.

Thank you and more power to this site.

If you already have CES then it is a case of asking CGFNS to forward it to new BON and pay any fees. BON's have different requirements for foreign nurses which usually have to be met. If unsure it is always best to contact BON directly and get it in writing. They at the end of the day makes the final decision on what they will/will not accept

you can change your exam location you just have to give them the call. in your case since youll be taking the VT and youll practice in ohio then youll have to endorse it but you have to comply there requirments like the CES.

The NCLEX exam has reciprocity, and that means that the score from it is accepted in all fifty states, as well as US territories. But one needs to meet the requirements of the new state to get licensed there. Ohio requires the CES for all foreign-trained nurses, whether initial licensure or for endorsement.

Yes, one can endorse provided that they meet the requirements of the new state and this is what you are going to need to do.

Check out their website for specifics to endorsing if you are a foreign grad, it is all spelled out there.

Please be aware that having a license in one state does not guarantee that one will be able to get licensed in every other state as well.
