Canadians in NC

As you can tell by the handle, I am statebound when I am done nursing.

My questions:

1) Does NC require the NCLEX?

2) Do employers ask or look into your CRNE (or lack thereof?)

I am asking b/c I have no desire to hand over any more money to Canadian nursing interests than I have to. If the US does not ask for CRNE results, then I have no motivation to write it. The faster I get away from my home faculty, the better.

Thank you.

I'm no expert, but the Canadian nurses I have worked with have had to take NCLEX. It might have changed by now, but a few years ago, that was the norm. Hope you have a great time here in NC! Here is the NCBON website, maybe that will help.

LOL did we go to the same school? Anyway, I may be wrong, but I don't see how you're going to do the NCLEX , license in the US, and get your VisaScreen without first having licensed here in Canada. But if I'm wron please post the info and links so othgers will be informed. Good luck, NC is nice!
