There are several threads discussing moving to Canada please take the time to read them and also have a read up in the Canadian forum as Alberta has a freezing hire (still ongoing as far as I am aware) and very hard for Canadian nurses to get work nether mind IEN's

Despite yesterday's provincial budget, the hiring freeze is still in place. Less than 50% of our new grads found work last year. The IEN mess of two years ago is still a sore topic here.

Unless there are really good reasons to look at Alberta (family), I'd try elsewhere.

You will have to research where you want to live and look at what requirements are required by the college of RN's

We can't choose for you, you need to do your research but if Canada is your dream them I am sure with determination and willing to work at it you will make it

thanks a lot !

I guess you didn't read the post by Fiona59. There are no nurses being hired in Alberta at the moment. Virtually all postings are for internal (meaning they're already employed by Alberta Health Services) applicants only. And that means Edmonton... where I am posting from right this second. If you wish to come to Canada as a student that is completely a separate issue; for the foreseeable future though you will not have any hope of finding a job as a nurse in Alberta.
