Hey there, I am currently working on my MSN in Administration and Leadership and I have considered getting my masters in public health after. I have found that there is an MSN in Public Health Nursing. This question may seem stupid but I cannot get a clear answer, can you have to MSN degrees but in different tracks? If yes, then how would it be displayed behind your name, (ie Jones, MSN, MSN, RN)?
I know this may be a silly question and probably wondering why I would want two masters, I love learning and I feel that it would better my education and advancement.
Thanks!

I don’t see why you couldn’t have more than one master’s degree if you’re willing to meet the requirements for both? I’ve thought about more than one myself and never have found that having a previous master’s degree is a disqualification
As far as how to list it behind your name, I’m actually not sure. I would think listing MSN once would probably suffice but then include both degrees on any resume. Maybe someone else here knows better
Regardless, good luck with whatever you decide to do!

I think in many cases the MSN degrees start with similar foundation classes so a second MSN will usually be a post master's certificate.

The Master of Science in Nursing is a degree offered in nursing schools and that is taken once regardless of the specialty focus (NP, administration, education, etc.). You would take a post-Master's certificate to add another specialty focus that is nursing related. However, you could add another Master's degree in another field if you wish such as MPH or MHSA or MBA. Those are degrees that are not exclusive to nursing. Some CRNA programs are not offered as MSN, perhaps in those you will obtain another Master's degree once you finish.
