*calling all recent grads*

Hello, I am not a recent grad but I want to know your input about the job market. I heard that only 30% of all recent grads obtain a position ANYWHERE! Everyone needs prior experience, at least 1-2 years and it's very hard to get a job as a recent grad. Please send me your input/experience. THANK YOU ALL!

I just graduated June from Rock Valley College of nursing's LPN program in Rockford, IL. I worked as a CNA at a nursing home prior to getting accepted into the nursing program. This helped me to secure a nursing job. Now I will start working 3rd shift as a nurse and I couldn't be happier. It is very difficult to find a nursing job these days, so I am blessed to even have a job available for me! :)

Graduated in June and still no job yet and only 1 interview.

I graduated from NIU. Worked as a CNA for 2 years in an acute rehab hospital..I ended up getting a job at there.

I interviewed at a different facility and was offered a position, but I turned it down. They then offered more money (because I have brain injury experience). I felt that I would have more growth at the rehab hospital, which is why I turned it down again.

I applied to tons of places and no other interviews.

It really helps if you have CNA experience so you have your foot in the door somewhere. I also have heard from some HR reps that they won't look at a new grad's resume if they don't have CNA experience.
