California nursing programs

Hi everyone,

I have been researching nursing programs in California and need any advice on nursing programs. There is so much more opportunity. I am looking into any second degree or accelerated programs. USD has a really nice program, but from the other threads that I have viewed this is a tough one to get into. Are all areas impacted and have a waiting list. I am ready and willing to start with an ADN program also. I would appreciate any experience shared or advice.

Thanks Kristina:)

Hi Kristina,

I have done a lot of research into Direct Entry Masters and Accelerated BSN program in CA. USD's program is excellent, but they take only about 40 people per YEAR and there are always 500+ applicants. Crazy. So for Direct Entry Masters in Southern California, that leaves Western in Corona. Cal State Long Beach has an Accelerated BSN as done Mount St. Mary's in LA. Azuza Pacific has also started a program that I just heard about - can't remember now if it's a Direct Entry or Accelerated. I am in the process of compiling a spreadsheet which lists all the schools in the nation offering the various programs for second degree nursing students, and would be happy to send you a copy when I'm finished if you send me a PM. It's a competitive road, but we'll get there! :)

I'm also looking into accelerated BSN programs in SoCal. Please share the list when finished! Thank you so much! (I'm also in SD)
