Does anyone out there have a suggestion for a great calculator to purchase for a statistics course?
I'll be going shopping on Thursday to get all set up for this upcoming semester.
Thanks in advance.

You might want to check and see if your school requires a specific type. Mine did.

we just used a regular calculator. The prof was fine with using a fancy graphing calculator but I preferred to do the work on paper so I could see it step by step.

I recently took statistics this fall, and our professor recommended a TI-83 or a TI-84. It makes your life entirely easy! there is buttons in the calculator that will allow you to skip doing the long formulas. It will make your life a whole lot easier!

Check if the instructor has any requirements for what they allow. My instructor did NOT allow graphing calculators for exams. I found my TI-30XS (basic scientific calculator about $20 at rite aide) sufficient for both stats and chemistry.

I took Statistics Spring 15 and I used a TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition, Texas Instrument and it was perfect for the problems we did in my class.

If there are no specific requirements I used the TI-83 PLUS, it is what my professor recommended. I bought mine used from a fb page that sells textbooks (like a swip, swap) for my college. Saved a lot! Other classmates bought from Amazon and even local pawn shops. I know you did not ask about that, just throwing the suggestion out there!!

My school may be weird but I used a cheapie the whole semester with stats. The calculator wasn't a huge part. We used stat crunch to help with the formulas and I finished with an A. Good luck.
