CAC Readers and AKO

Hey there

I purchased a CAC Reader and received it via UPS today and spent a little time setting it up this evening. It really wasn't too bad downloading the drivers and the ActivClient Agent the Army has you use. Anyway, I was successful in getting my laptop and the internet browser to recognize it, right from the get go (and I did it all myself without the intervention of my computer-saavy teenagers I might add). Anyway, the problem I am having is with AKO. I cannot get it to recognize it and it keeps kicking me over to a page where it says that "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" (hmmm.... go figure) I have come up with some possible scenarios and was wondering if there was anyone else with the same issues?

1.) it could just be AKO----- hmmm.....

2.) it could be that my RFO is still waiting to be processed, hence I am still a "noone" technically and am thrown into the IRR status temporarily which means that "persons in the IRR don't need CAC REaders" according to AKO info page

3.) the lineup of the stars and the planets affecting the mood of the permissionkeeper whereever they are

anyway, I tried decreasing the security as someone on the CAC/AKO forum suggested and that didn't do anything.... I tried keeping my fingers crossed and I even tried asking pretty please. hmmm.

any suggestions?

thanks in advance

e.

easy option would be to have a person with a known working AKO account to try and log in at your computer or for you to log in at a known good ako valid cac-reader/computer.... then you will know what to focus your worries on.
