I have been looking at the requirements on the CAC website. I am wondering if you need to have Chem 130 for the RN program. I know you need it for the Maricopa Community College program. I just dont see a listing on the CAC Website. It just says Bio 201,202, ENG 101, Math 120 and a CNA.
Also do they have an LPN program? I am going to call the school with these questions, but I want to compare to what students have to say.
TIA

You don't need chm 130 at this time. No they do not have an LPN program persay, its the first part of the RN program and you can sit for the LPN exam... however it is not a seperate program and you have to be admitted into the RN program.
The test for CAC is HESI

The pre-reqs include CNA, BIO201 and BIO202. (As of this semester). In the program you have the option to sit for the NCLEX-PN, but there is an additional class at the end of the 2nd block which covers certain material needed for the LPN. You cannot sit for the NCLEX-PN unless you take this class. I think it is a two days, eight hour class.
Of course, you must be admitted into the RN program first.
Chemistry is NOT required for CAC, but I think it required for a BSN.

Well, technically CHM 130 IS required because Microbiology is a co-req and CHM 130 is a pre-req to Micro.
Chm 130 is not required right now for Microbiology if you take it at Rio Salado College
Thanks for all of the info. I talked to an advisor two days ago at CAC and she said that CHM 130 was a pre-req for Micro but I didnt need it in order to apply. But..... She did say that they have a new director so some changes may occur. She wouldnt elaborate on specifics but just said to keep checking in. I am thinking that they are going to become similar to the structure of the Maricopa Community Colleges. (this is just speculation) I am just hoping that if they go to a wait list that it wont be as long.

I wish they would make their school site easier for prospective students. I had to google their stuff after not finding it on their home page. I haven't started anything yet, just research since CAC is the closet school to me. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in lol

Speaking of CAC's website, I never could figure out which sites have the nursing program. CAC has so many satellite-branch schools. I noticed there is a new one in Queen Creek. Does anyone know which location the nursing courses are offered at and which facilities they offer for clinicals? Obviously, acute care will most likely be at CGRMC. I have heard mixed things about that hospital. Has anyone heard anything, good or bad?
