Go to the California State BON Website then click on License Verification. It'll ask for you to type your first and last name. If you passed then you should find your name there with your temporary license number. You don't need your SSn # to be able to access that information. Goodluck. :wink2:

But you need to have given a SSN# to the BRN for them to issue a license to you. If they do not have that, then you will not see your name on their website.

I am a foreign nurse and will take the nclex exam this september. I don't have a ssn#, I will not be able to check my result on the CA BON website?

You can also go on the Pearson Vue website, login, and find out your scores after 48 hours (even on the weekends). You have to pay a fee of ~$10...but the peace of mind is worth every penny. At least you will know you can either take a deep breath, or need to find another study plan and gear yourself up for round two, three, four, etc.

I wish the very best of luck to you! :)

I dont think you can check your results with Pearson Vue as Ca isnt a rapid results state.

Correct, no SSN means your name will not appear on the website and will take approx 4 weeks to get results through mail. Would suggest you check out the international forum under the region tab above because much has already been written on Ca

You can only pay pearsonvue if the state participates in quick results and Ca doesn't

yes Ca is not included in the list of BONs who are giving quick results. i got my exam result by mail 3 weeks after i took it. and unfortunately i didn't make it.you will know if u passed or not when you get hold of the envelope.mine is thicker, by then i knew it contains the reapplication form and some instructions on retaking.

You will not be able to check your name on their website as they will not be issuing a license number to you without a SSN#. You will be waiting approximately one month to get your results by mail from them. There is no other way to find out if you passed or not. The other issue is that the letter is going to be valid for only three years and then it expires.

Suggest that you check out the International Forum for more specifics on this and what you will need to do.

Best of luck on your exam.

Sorry, but CA does not participate in Quick Results.

I advise you to get the ITIN instead (for the meantime), they will post your name in the website, i've known a friend who did that and saw her name after 2 days, she passed.:wink2:

Not everyone will qualify for the ITIN number.

It actually has become much more difficult to get the ITIN# for this very reason. CA wants proof that one can work in the US legally before issuing a license. The ITIN# does not permit one to work in the US.

And it is actually a different sequence of numbers for the SSN# from the ITIN# and if picked up, then they are not issuing the license.

Not a good thing to be doing.

Next issue is that when one applies for the green card, and they have a license number already, questions are going to be asked how they got it and this can cause problems for the nurse. Immigration is really cracking down on quite a few things at this time.
