By Pass Visa Screen

Published

I have California RN license, holding TD visa, Canadian passport, living in California. been offered by two hospitals, one hospital won't wait for me since I don't have SSN, no working visa. Another hospital is my first choice, I really don't wanna lose this offer, but it takes long time to get visascreen certificate. (I have to count Christmas time:o)

Is it possible to by pass visascreen? since it's only for green card, what if I don't need it? Would they give me TN visa if I live in USA more than one year, have a tax number(ITIN) and have an offer in hand?

Does anyone has any experience? or does anyone know border's phone number or website. they seem hard to reach?

Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as I am aware for TN you need VSC and job offer just go to the borders and they will issue. I don't think you can bypass VSC unless married to US citizen

Thanks Dragon, I also did some research----Visa Screen cant be by passed.

hello!

i am a td also ( mexican) and there is no way to by pass vsc in anyways. i've been here since 2001 with a f-1 visa until may 2006, then from may '06 to nov '07 under td and now seeking tn ( appointment by the end of nov).

if your school of nursing, board in canada, board in usa send the required documents and english test results ( if apply) to cgfns and you pay for your application ahead, cgfns says that it takes 6-8 weeks after they receive the last document from the above mentioned agencies ,to review, issue and mail the vscetificate, so think about it.

also just fyi if you try to go to any us consulate or embassy in mexican territory, you will be ask to e-mail or mail ( courier) your documents to a preview by an immigration officer then they will set an appointment for you.

try to speak with the nurse recruiter and hr to explain a little bit the process and how long it will take, so perhaps , they really want you and they will wait for you. ( the facility where i will work has been waiting two months) good luck!!

i hope this info helps.

thanks.

Thanks tettito! Yes, they did tell me that once they receive my validation of RN license, they will review my case, it takes about 6 weeks. The problem is BRN need another 6 wks to process validation.

......I feel guilty to let hospital wait for me FOREVER.

Anyway, hopefully they will wait.

Processing of the TN Visa is quicker when done thru Canada. There is no involvement of the immigration offices other than directly at the border with Canada. It is handled by the officer directly at the border, nothing has to be sent in advance for Canada. That is only for TN Visas being processed via the Mexican border.

TN Visas will not be issued without the VSC, no way around that. The VSC is required for any type of visa where the nurse is being petitioned or sponsored by an employer, no way around that requirement for anyone.
