Buying a pre-req textbook on Amazon

I ordered a statistics textbook ($60) from Amazon for my pre-req two weeks ago. However I haven't received it yet. I emailed the seller, and he said he mailed out the book about two weeks ago. Now I don't know what to do? keep waiting or what else can I do? Anyone here has experienced with this kind of thing? Can I get money back if I really don't receive that book eventually? Thanks!

Have you called Amazon directly? This is the first thing I would do. The seller is going through Amazon's site, am I am sure that there are certain requirements he/she has to keep. (Amazon is very, very good about re-shipping missing/lost items. I would think they would hold their sellers to a similar standard.) Give Amazon a call... and see if they can intervene.

The refund process is online in your amazon account. I don't remember off the top of my head what to click on but it can cancel the sale and get your money back.

It could take that long if its shipped media mail. Usually about 10-14 business days. I always think items should be here faster when they arrive a few days later, ugh.

Just so you know, you do have the option to return the item and then select "item not received" and if the package comes to your house write return to sender on it and send it right back where it came from. It is the seller's responsibility to ensure the package gets to you and if it doesn't they are supposed to refund you. If they don't you can contact Amazon.com and report him. Your estimated delivery date is on your order on Amazon.com.

Media mail does not take 2 entire weeks, unless you live in the sticks. And if that were the case, ALL your mail would take forever. I buy and sell all my books on Amazon.com and nothing has ever taken 2 weeks. It takes 4-5 days.

You never know, the package could have been lost or damaged in the mail. This happened to a customer of mine recently. I mailed her the book and somehow the envelope I mailed it in came open, and the book got separated from both the packaging and the packing slip. She got the packing slip mailed to her by the post office and didn't tell me until 10 days later because she was hoping they would somehow find the book and send it to her. So I had to refund her the entire $50 bucks. I have definitely learned my lesson: Don't trust the adhesive on the padded mailers when the book weighs over 2lbs! And, tape the packing slip to the cover of the book!
