Burned out

I've been a nurse for 8years. I've done critical care, med surg, hospice and home health. I now do case management which can be enjoyable. I suppose I am just asking for guidance bc I know deep down I'm burned out. It's hard to deal with the family members who have impossible demands no matter how hard you try to help. I care about the patients I help and doing a good job. I know you guys understand being burned out. Someone who has been there please advise.

I have been a LPN for 6 almost 7 years. I am way past burned out, so far to where I'm over half way complete with my healthcare administration degree. I understand your pain. Nursing can be very stressful.

Maybe you should go into business for yourself. With all the experience you have I'm sure u have seen a need for something

you are looking at the king of burn out. the current job im at. sucks, point blank. been here for 4 years. i guess thats what i get for working in a prison while going to school lol.

the best advice i can give you is, look for a different career. you can get burnt out in anything you do. just either have to deal with it. or change it.

I am in the same boat as you. Looking for some relief. I wish I had some good advice, but it is so good to see someone else post about this.

It's reassuring to be on here and know I'm not alone in being burned out. It's hard trying to find something else especially if you live in an area where there aren't a lot of opportunities. Sometimes I feel stuck even though nursing is supposed to be a flexible career, but sometimes its not that way if you live in a certain area.
